Vocal Illusion is an acoustic rock cover duo featuring Patrick Smith (guitarist/keyboardist of Club 44) on lead vocals and guitar and Ray Chlapecka on guitar and background vocals playing hits spanning 50 years. A classically trained multi-instrumentalist and  arranger with a Musical Performance Degree from De Paul University, Pat has played in many Chicago based bands, performing at venues such as the Park West and Chicago Fest. Ray has been in a variety of south side bands playing a variety of genres as well. Their versatile styles allow them to perform in practically any type of ensemble-rock, blues, country, acoustic, and jazz. Vocal Illusion also uses electronic voice (hence the band name) and digital drum tracks enhancements to fatten up their sound on needed selections. We use small sound equipment so the actual stage footprint required is never an issue. We can fit anywhere! You will not believe the sound generated by only two people!
